We want you to belong to our local church! Why does it even matter? Because we want you to experience and to share in our joy!
We are a group of ordinary people from different backgrounds and upbringings who have been changed by the joy-filling and life-changing power of the good news of the Gospel as promised in the Bible. John chapter 3, verse 16, summarises the Christian good-news like this:
“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life.”
That’s right! God promises salvation only in and through Jesus Christ who lived a perfect life and who died a cruel death in place of sinners but who rose again, defeating death. Do you think that this claim sounds outlandish? Don’t be quick to dismiss it! Yes, many throughout history have doubted, opposed and persecuted Christians. However, consider the fact that this simple—yet profound—truth has given a living hope and has radically changed the lives of millions of people, even to this day! From scientists, historians and mighty rulers to ordinary people from all sorts of backgrounds. Countless of lives like Augustine, Polycarp, John Wycliffe, William Tindale, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Lady Jane Gray, John Bunyan, John Newton, Anne Bradstreet, Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield, the Wesley brothers, William Carey, Thomas Boston, Adoniram & Ann Judson, Hudson & Maria Taylor, David Brainerd, Charles Spurgeon, Mary Slessor, Corrie Ten Boom and the list goes on and on…
Real lives, real stories, real change that came through the powerful good news of Jesus Christ—But don’t just take our word for it, examine the claims of the Bible for yourself today!
“I always thought I was a good person but realised I was worse than I thought. People said, “Most people are good, we just make mistakes” but I couldn’t believe that anymore. Then I found out that God does not pretend that I’m better than I am, but knows all of the bad and offers forgiveness because of Jesus’ death. My life has never been the same since!”
—Jasmine, 26
“Four years ago, I learned about the unquenchable place that God has prepared because of our sin. But all is not lost, a Saviour came into the world to save sinners. I knew I needed to repent and believe, and shouted with joy: “I believe”! Last year I got baptised.”
—Daniel, 12
“For 46 years, I lived “a good Christian life”—I believed in God and I thought that was enough. I then learned from the Bible that I couldn’t go before God in my sin but that by putting my faith and trust in Jesus was the only way to Him. Life is hard but knowing God is there, is joy after joy.”
—Ann, 66
“At the age of 16, I came across the family Bible. I became very angry at what I read! “How can this be true?” I asked. I used to believe I was a very good person, but in reality, I needed a Saviour. I was lost, but now I am found.”
